With the establishment of the International Athletics Federation 1912, fixed rules for the discus throw were established.
- competition expiry
Today, in a regular competition six attempts were thrown. The aim is to throw the discus as far as possible in a given sector. The best width is counted for each thrower. After three attempts, the eight athletes qualify for the final battle with the highest ranges in which then again three litters exercised. The fourth and fifth trial is thrown in reverse order of the competition state after three attempts. Likewise, in the last experiment, the order from last to first is rearranged after five attempts.
- illegal casts
A throw is invalid if:
the circle was left forward (after the start of the experiment),
the top of the iron ring or the ground outside the circle was touched during the trial,
the discussion is not certain lands,
the preparation time has been exceeded,
the district was abandoned before the discussion touched the ground,
the experiment was not started from the resting position.
